There is no cure for Tay-Sachs; however, there are treatments that can help:

Respiratory care


- There are chest physiotheraphy and training families that will help patients with the disease in reducing the lung mucus. This is a very common respiratory infection that affects childern with Tay-Sachs.
-This careful treatment will help reduce lung problems

Assistive devices


- Children will have breathing problems when they swallow food or drink liquids.
- There are assistant devices to help feed your children like the Nasogastric (NG) tube and the Percutaneous Esophago-Gastrostomy (PEG) tube

Medication

- Medication will help reduce symptoms, such as seizure medications

Physical therapy
- Because of the muscle and joint affecting symptoms, physical therapy will help reduce stiffness or pain and help the muscles and joints function properly.


Support for the family
-There are many supporting groups that help you cope with Tay-Sachs, genetic diseases. Do not lose hope!
